Are You Living Your Values?
When executives come to me for coaching support or I’m working with participants in our cohort programs, I often see a disconnect between what people value and their daily actions. This disconnect can be a source of stress, unhappiness and frustration. When I find myself feeling out of balance, I often check myself. Am I living my values? Below is an exercise I like to share with my clients to help them maintain alignment. I hope you find it helpful.
1. Identify up to five values from the list below that help you navigate life, fill you with
purpose and help you understand the Why behind your actions and motivations.
2. What are one or two behaviors or actions you exhibited this past week that supported your values? How did that make you feel and what was the impact?
3. What are one or two behaviors or actions that took you outside of or were in conflict with your values? How did that make you feel and what was the impact?
4. What are one or two new actions you can take this week to improve or maintain alignment with your time, actions and values?
I share this and similar content in our women’s leadership and cohort experiences. If you would like to explore starting a women’s leadership or cohort experience for your organization, I’d love to share how I can help.
